ABOUT THE TUTOR

My husband, Russ, and I together have 5 grown and married children and 5 grandchildren. Nicholas, our 11 year old, is the only one left at home.

Having been employed for many years in the corporate world, I returned to being a stay at home mom and began to work for my husband’s company, Austin Home Builders, part-time. I became involved in my son’s schooling more and more at Oakfield Baptist Academy where I began substituting for music classes which lead to teaching some high school and all of elementary music and drama for the last 3 years. Because most of my training had been in business, I returned to college to pursue a Fine Arts degree through continuing credit classes. I’ve been involved in music all my life having participated in school band for 8 years, taught piano and maintained regular involvement vocally and instrumentally since a child. I’ve had the joy of directing small church choirs and large community choirs of all ages for musical productions.

It is my belief that music speaks to the soul and is a God given medium through which we can worship, praise and glorify our Savior. I love to see and hear children sing! I love to see kids learn that music is a language they can learn to read! It is my joy to teach them to discover natural talents which can be developed and used for the Lord.
