ABOUT THE TUTOR

The Lord has given me so many blessings and it is so wonderful that I have the
opportunity to share some of what He has given me: my passion for art, my love for
the Lord, and the love for teaching!  Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of
either teaching or art.  After 4 years of art in high school, and studying art /
education in college, I was finally able to do them both!

The Lord led my journey through a public school, a local Christian school, “Karen About Art" Classes at HSB since 2000, currently for Grace Home School Association since 2005, PTC in Byron Center and Koinonia starting in 2007. Teaching kids in the home school community has definitely been my favorite and I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching for Koinonia!

In addition to teaching and home schooling my two teenage children (with a lot of help from my brilliant mother and husband), I spend my Wednesdays as the editor for the Swedish American Heritage Society of West Michigan and enjoy using my free time in the summer to produce works of art.  My favorite type of artwork that I like to do is of Christian subjects. I feel that this is a wonderful way to witness and use the talent that He has given me.
